About Me
Hi! My name’s Brittany, and I’m a health nut (mostly!).
I wasn’t always that way, though.
For most of my life, I ate whatever I wanted. And when I was young, that worked just fine. I could down a McDonald’s double cheeseburger, fries, a drink, and a cinnamon roll (extra icing, please!), and never gain a pound. When I was even younger, my doctor told my mom, “Feed them everything, give them extra calories, just make them eat!” because my brother and I could never gain weight.
Then came puberty.
The weight crept on slowly, and it really didn’t make a difference until college. I managed to gain about 20 pounds between freshman year and graduation. Not THAT bad, you say. And you’re right.
But it was 20 pounds of 3am cheeseburgers, fried food at the sorority house, and gallons upon gallons of the sweetest, sugariest (yeah.. not a word) drinks bartenders could serve up. Oh yeah, and plenty of cake batter ice cream from Cold Stone.
I graduated, got into the working world, and still ate the same, still drank the same, still weighed the same. After about a year out of school, I decided it was time for a change. So I went cold turkey. With everything.
It took me 3-4 months, but I got back down to my pre-college weight.
A month or so later, I moved from Tampa, FL to Los Angles to chase my dreams (no, not to be an actress), and I now work for a reality TV/documentary production company. More than a year later, I’ve managed to keep the weight off (without yo-yo-ing once!) by eating healthy, staying active, and learning to manage my time (I work way more hours now than I ever have… but I love my job!).
But I still enjoy the occasional margarita. And the Mexican food that usually accompanies it.
Hey… life’s short. But my runs aren’t.
So here’s me today, staying active… and most importantly, having fun:

Your Dad is so so proud of you – you need to send this stuff to Food Network !!!
Thanks, Pops.
Aha the Richard Simmons class you were talking about!! So cute! That mud run looks super fun. I’ve always wanted to do one!!!
It was very nice meeting you today. Hopefully we will get a chance to hang out again at another time!
The mud run is in Santa Clarita, and they’re doing another in April. I’ll have to post something about it later on!
